NEW DELHI: Union minister Chirag Paswan , who has been criticizing NDA ally and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar over the state's rising crime graph, on Monday said that as a partner in the ruling alliance, it is his responsibility to discuss the government's shortcomings so that things can be improved.

"As an ally, it is my responsibility that if there is any information about any issue in the government, we have to discuss and improve it," Paswan told reporters in the national capital.
The LJP (Ram Vilas) chief further asserted that the ruling coalition is united in Bihar.
"The opposition knows they cannot win. So they are trying to create rift in the NDA to make things easier for themselves. We will contest the election under Nitish Kumar's leadership, and he will become chief minister again. The NDA is inching towards a historic win," he stated.
Paswan's remarks come two days after he said he was "ashamed" that he was supporting a government under which crime had become "uncontrollable" in the state.
Reacting to the Hajipur MP's "ashamed" comment, RJD leader Manoj Jha accused him out over "double speak."
"This is a clear example of double speak, and now he’s proving to be a master of it. You have close ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. You are not an ordinary person—you’re a Union minister. Only then will it be clear that this was not just a statement for show." Jha added.
Bihar will go to polls later this year.
