IShowSpeed is not new to challenges and breaking records. The YouTuber once again grabbed the limelight after breaking a world record previously set by Devin Carter. He held the NBA combine world record of the fastest ¾ sprint. Carter had completed the drill in 2.87 seconds. The athlete achieved the record in 2024. However, it did not stand for long as Ishowspeed broke it in 2025.
During a training session with Kevin Durant, the YouTuber took up the challenge and wanted to see his duration of completing the ¾ sprint. Much to everyone’s surprise, including the NBA legend present there, IShowSpeed effortlessly broke the record. He completed the drill in 2.80 seconds. Speed broke the previous record by 0.07 seconds. Immediately, cheers broke out in the stadium, and Speed celebrated his new achievement, stating that he is the fastest in the league.

Kevin Durant stands on the side as he watches the YouTuber capture the milestone. As IShowSpeed starts the sprint and ends it, Kevin breaks out with a cheer, “My man! 2.80 seconds.” IShowSpeed returns from the finishing line and halfway realizes that he has just broken the world record. He immediately yells, “I did it! That’s the world record. Hell yeah!!!”
He further continued, “I officially hold the combined NBA world record, man! I am the fastest in the league, man.” As Ishowspeed continues to celebrate, Kevin Durant had a few words to say for the YouTuber. Durant stated, “I think he is an athletic freak that needs to be put in positions to achieve his full potential.”
This is not the first time the YouTuber has achieved a feat like this. Previously, Speed has challenged athletes from different sports. The influencer has proved that he is not just a YouTuber, but is also a fitness freak. In 2024, he challenged the fastest man in the world, Noah Lyles, in a 50-meter race. Even though he lost the race, it gave him the confidence to challenge any athlete in the world.
Breaking Devin Carter’s record must have instilled a new aspiration in him. Afterall, he claimed towards the end of the video how he is the fastest in the league and holds the combine NBA world record.
