It has been more than two years since Phillip Schofield left his post as This Morning presenter after an affair with a younger colleague was leaked to the public. The former host had seemingly been banished from television before turning up on a remote desert island on Channel 5's Cast Away in late September last year, reflecting on personal and professional struggles he had endured since.
On the show, Schofield touched upon broken-down relationships and 'utter betrayal,' with many believing him to be taking aim at former co-presenter, alongside whom he had publicly come out as gay in 2020. At the time, Schofield had been married to partner Stephanie Lowe since March 1993, and remained despite admitting he was aware he was gay on his wedding day.
The pair are still legally married, though separated, and the 63-year-old has cited her "continued love" as a reason neither wants to divorce.
"That is what makes this so hard. Knowing you are hurting the perfect person, but I still love Steph as much as when we first met. More, probably," He explained shortly after revealing his true sexuality back in 2020.
Stephanie has also since commented on the close bond the pair still share, reportedly refusing to file for divorce to avoid seeing him "fall any further," insisting "the love is still very much there".
Phillip has been spotted on several occasions since his TV exile, still brandishing his wedding ring in public.
One of their two daughters, Molly, commented on the relationship her parents shared since Phillip's announcement, stating that it brought them together.
"Weirdly, everything that's happened recently has made us closer," Molly contended, adding, "When my dad came out, it was, it was very hard for me. It was very hard for the entire family. Mainly my mum, of course, everything was turned upside down. But we talked through it, and over time it's got easier.

"My mum, my sister, we're all the same, we will always continue to support him no matter what. And I never thought it would have gone the way it has, but to have my parents still best friends, it's just, I'm the luckiest person ever."
Both Phillip and Stephanie have also remained financially intertwined despite separation, co-owning their Fistral Productions company together with more than £2million in net equity.
Ms Schofield set up the firm alongside her husband back in 2010, and it remains financially stable with accounts suggesting it is owed more than £900,000 by Fistral Properties, another venture the married couple went into together.
Stephanie is still listed as a director and signed the latest accounts, showing continued involvement.
