It's been another year to remember for Jannik Sinner, with the Italian, alongside rival Carlos Alcaraz, having dominated men's tennis yet again. It wasn't without its problems though, given he spent a chunk of the year on the sidelines after being banned for a doping-related incident.
However, by the time the year comes to a close, he'll have added another two Grand Slam titles to his tally, and banked a whopping £34million prize money as well. But while the tennis icon is unanimously considered one of the two best players in the world, Sinner revealed he keeps the trophies he wins at his mum and dad's house instead.
He picked up his latest piece of silverware (or in this case, gold) with a win at the recent Chinese Open, where he cruised past youngster Learner Tien in straight sets. Quizzed on his collection after the match, Sinner replied: "In my parents' place always. My apartment is quite small, so there's not a lot of space."
The next tournament on Sinner's radar is set to come later this month when he competes at the Shanghai Masters 1000. On his preparations for the latest ATP 1000 event, Sinner explained: "I'm not the only one who is changing. If you ask every player, every player is changing stuff and trying to get better. Whatever we try to do, it's not crazy steps, just trying to adjust a couple of things, trying to get better as a player, like everyone else does.
"Certain shots that worked slightly better than the months before, certain shots we can still improve. But it's also normal, and I'm just looking forward to having as many matches as possible in every tournament. This gives me the chance to try as many things as possible. So, let's see, but we are quite happy with the work we are doing."
On the Asian swing of the Tour, he added: "It feels great to be back here. It's a very special tournament, obviously the last one we have in Asia. Conditions are definitely different from Beijing, so I have only one practice session to get ready, but let's see."
Sinner will get his Shanghai campaign up and running on Saturday when he faces Daniel Altmaier of Germany in the round of 64.
