Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it's one that often gets skipped in the hustle and bustle of daily life. And if you do make time for this meal, it can still be difficult to ensure you actually get something nutritious, with many people opting for a slice or two of toast with nothing else.
However, it doesn't have to be this way. Nutritionist and food influencer GQ Jordan has shared a simple make-ahead breakfast recipe that takes just minutes to prep and lasts for up to two weeks. Sharing how to make your own granola at home, GQ argues that while store-bought may be more convenient, if it's home-made, you can completely control what goes in, and it's still super easy to make.

Her followers were quick to comment on the recipe, with one writing: "This is my fave recipe. Make it ALL the time."
While another added: "I love this recipe! I'm been doing it non stop wit my own little twiks... I add dates cause I have a very sweet tooth. Thank you!!!"
And a third commented: "I love this granola recipe! Have made it several times now. So easy! And I love the addition of nut butter."
Ingredients- One cup of oats
- 1/2 cup of cashews
- 1/3 cup of pecans
- 1/4 cup of flaked almonds
- Two tablespoons of pumpkin seeds
- Two tablespoons of uncooked quinoa (rinsed)
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
- One tablespoon of maple syrup
- Two tablespoons of nut butter (any kind)
Start by preheating the oven to 160 °C.
While the oven heats up, mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Then spread this mixture onto a lined baking tray.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, tossing halfway. Then let it cool fully before storing it in a jar, where it can last for up to two weeks.
When serving breakfast, pour 40g of the granola into a bowl alongside 200g of Greek yoghurt, a handful of raspberries, and one tablespoon of flaxseed.
