All Home Bargains shops across the UK will remain closed for three days, the retailer has recently announced. Home Bargains, run by TJ Morris Ltd in Liverpool, is one of the UK's fastest-growing discount shops. It has over 600 stores nationwide and employs more than 28,500 people, making it the largest independent grocery retailer in the country.
The popular bargain retailer announced on Friday, September 5, will close on Christmas Day, Thursday December 25, Boxing Day, Friday December 26, and New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1. The decision was revealed at its annual conference with the aim of giving staff a break. Stores will also shut earlier than usual on Christmas Eve, ceasing trading at 5pm to give teams additional time to spend the evening with family and friends.
According to the authorities, the move will help employees to enjoy the festive season with their loved ones.
A spokesperson for Home Bargains stated: "Our colleagues work incredibly hard throughout the year, and we want to recognise that commitment. As a family-run business, we understand the importance of spending time with family and friends, particularly over the holidays. We're proud to give our teams additional time off to enjoy the festive season."
Tom Morris launched the first Home Bargains store in Liverpool back in 1976, originally under the name "Home and Bargain." Since then, the business has grown into a major national retailer, with stores spread across the UK.
Known for offering a wide range of products at budget-friendly prices, Home Bargains has become a go-to destination for shoppers looking for affordable homeware, groceries, beauty items, and toys. Its blend of value and variety continues to attract millions of customers nationwide.
