Argos shoppers say shoe storage cabinet is 'easy to put together' and 'holds loads'

Whether you're a "shoes off" the moment you get home type of person, or happy to leave them on, having a space to keep them tidy and out of sight can help a hallway or cloakroom look uncluttered and stay organised.

I'm personally desperate for one that can hold as much as possible, look stylish and be relatively slim, that's why this Argos Home cabinet caught my eye.

According to Argos, the slatted doors are designed to improve airflow, which can help shoes dry after wet weather - perfect for this time of year. Its size makes it suitable for hallways or entrance areas without taking up too much space.

It's reasonably priced at £75 and comes in an oak-effect finish, and is made from chipboard. It's fairly sizeable, measuring 87cm high (just under 3ft), 60cm wide and 33.5cm deep, and weighing about 19kg. Inside are four shelves - one fixed and three adjustable - with space for up to 12 pairs of shoes. Argos recommends fixing the unit to a wall due to its height. Self-assembly is required, and it comes with a one-year guarantee. It's not clear exactly how much assembly is needed but most customers say it is easy and quick to do.

One reviewer said: "Very happy with this cabinet. It's perfect for our hall way and store shoes away. Easy to install and looks modern, smart and the perfect size for the hallway." Another person added: "Bought this and really impressed. Holds enough shoes, partner is a size 10 and they are stored sideways but there's still loads of room. Only reason I have reduced a star is the hinges are not soft close."

Not all customers were satisfied with the main complaint being that large shoes had to stored sideways. One cutomer wrote: "My only drawback is that I have to put shoes in it sideways. My size 5 fit a treat but my husbands size 9 have to go in sideways to allow for the door to shut."
