SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025 dates announced: Full September schedule now available at ssc.gov.in

The Staff Selection Commission ( SSC) has officially released the dates for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025.

The announcement made on 3 September 2025 has brought clarity for thousands of aspirants preparing for one of the most sought-after government job recruitment exams in India.

When will the exam take place?

According to the official notification, the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025 will be held on 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 September 2025.

The exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across the country.

What does the paper include?

Tier 1 of SSC CGL will have objective-type, multiple-choice questions covering:
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Comprehension
Except for the English section, all questions will be available in both English and Hindi.

How many vacancies this year?

This year, the recruitment drive aims to fill 14,582 vacancies in Group B and Group C posts across various Ministries, Departments, Organisations, Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies and Tribunals of the Government of India.

Here’s the category-wise vacancy break-up:
  • UR: 6,183
  • SC: 2,167
  • ST: 1,088
  • OBC: 3,721
  • EWS: 1,423

What else should candidates know?

The registration window for SSC CGL 2025 opened on 9 June and closed on 4 July 2025. Now, with exam dates confirmed, candidates are advised to regularly check the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) for further updates, including admit cards and exam centre details.
